Details
This Persian maiolica plate has a circular shape, a shallow profile and a ring foot. Numerous stylised fish, facing different directions, fill the blue background, which varies from light to deeper shades. Their cream-coloured bodies and long, curved tails are defined by dark outlines. Grid patterns and green and dark blue details distinguish parts of the fish. A cream-coloured rim frames the design, which also continues on the reverse around the foot.
