This Persian maiolica bowl has flared sides, a cream-coloured rim and a small circular foot. Numerous stylised fish face different directions across the blue interior background; the decoration continues on the outside. Dark outlines define their light-coloured bodies and long curved tails, with grids and green, blue and brown details on the upper parts of the fish. Thin dark lines mark the edge of the design along the rim and above the foot.
