This Persian maiolica vase has a slender rectangular body with rounded edges and a short circular neck. Stylised fish with light-coloured bodies and curved tails alternate in opposite directions along the sides. The decoration continues across the top around the neck. Dark outlines, green, blue and burgundy grids and small coloured bands distinguish the fish against the yellow background. A thin dark line separates the flared white rim from the neck.
