This Khatam box from Persia has an elongated form with softly rounded ends. Its lid features a miniature in ochre, red, and green tones, depicting a figure holding a pitcher and a mug. Dense geometric star inlay extends across the sides in shades of green, cream, and brown. The sliding construction opens to reveal a simple rectangular interior compartment, left plain and without figurative decoration.
