Khatam box from Persia, with an elongated form and rounded ends. The lid is decorated with a floral miniature in shades of blue, ochre and brown, arranged around a central motif. Along the sides, dense Persian geometric inlay alternates small light and brown stars within linear borders. The lid lifts open to reveal a narrow, evenly shaped interior compartment finished in warm tones.
