Khatam box from Persia, with an elongated shape and rounded ends. The sliding lid carries a miniature of a travelling camel caravan with figures, painted in shades of ochre, green, red, and blue. The sides are defined by dense geometric inlay composed of small repeating motifs. When partially opened, the box reveals a dark inner compartment, bordered by a coordinated geometric decoration that continues the detailed pattern of the exterior.
